Area Director of Purchasing

About the role

The Purchasing Director leads all procurement activities for Hotel Indigo Grand Cayman and the adjacent Kimpton Seafire property. This senior position ensures the efficient, cost‑effective, and timely acquisition of goods and services that support hotel operations across multiple departments.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all purchasing and procurement operations, including staff, receiving teams, and warehouse activities.
• Drive overseas, local, and food‑related sourcing while maintaining product quality, consistency, and competitive pricing.
• Develop and execute global sourcing strategies to reduce costs, mitigate risk, and secure reliable supply.
• Negotiate complex vendor contracts, pricing, and service agreements to achieve measurable cost reductions.
• Oversee high‑volume, multi‑category purchasing cycles aligned with corporate budgets and forecasts.
• Monitor market trends and commodity pricing, adjusting procurement strategies as needed.
• Lead cost‑control initiatives through spend analysis, supplier benchmarking, and long‑term partnerships.
• Ensure compliance with corporate, legal, food‑safety (HACCP), and sustainability standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing large‑scale procurement in a hospitality or similar environment.
• Strong track record in vendor relationship management and contract negotiation.
• Ability to develop and implement strategic sourcing initiatives.
• Excellent analytical skills for market monitoring and cost‑control.
• Knowledge of corporate, legal, food‑safety, and sustainability compliance requirements.
