Application Architect

About the role

Uni Systems is seeking an Application Architect to join its UniQue team. You will shape and adapt the application architecture to meet customer needs while ensuring data integrity and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Define or adapt the current architecture to support customer requirements.
• Perform data analysis, create ERD models and apply Boyce‑Codd Normal Form.
• Support technical teams integrating with the system and resolve operational issues.
• Design and develop architectural components and building blocks.
• Participate in technical working groups, progress meetings and user sessions.

Required profile

• Master’s degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience, or Bachelor’s degree with 9 years, including a minimum of 2 years in Oracle RDBMS architecture.
• Strong expertise in relational databases (preferably Oracle 19c or newer) and complex SQL.
• Solid experience with PL/SQL, stored procedures and deployment packages.
• Excellent communication, problem‑solving and documentation skills in English.

Required skills

• Oracle 19c (or newer) and relational database design.
• SQL, PL/SQL, stored procedures.
• Git and CI/CD pipelines for databases (e.g., Liquibase).
• UNIX/Linux, Bash/KornShell scripting.
• Jira, basic database administration.
• Application servers such as WebLogic or Tomcat.
• Familiarity with modern data engineering tools (Parquet, Delta, Databricks, Synapse, Fabric) – asset.
• Agile methodologies – asset.
