AP Accountant – Finance Team – Brussels

About the role

Join the Finance team of a leading international retailer in Brussels as an AP Accounting Specialist. You will be responsible for managing and reconciling financial transactions, supporting month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closing, and providing financial insights to operational teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and reconcile AP transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with BE GAAP and IFRS.
• Participate in monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities and assist with financial reporting.
• Perform complex reconciliations, including intercompany and fixed‑asset accounts.
• Analyze and improve financial processes through automation and efficiency initiatives.
• Partner with stores, e‑commerce and logistics teams to deliver financial insights and support decision‑making.
• Identify financial risks, strengthen internal controls and contribute to continuous‑improvement projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Management.
• At least one year of experience in a similar accounting role.
• Strong accounting knowledge, especially in complex reconciliations (intercompany, fixed assets).
• Fluent in Dutch with good command of French and English.
• Proactive, organized and able to meet strict deadlines.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Interest and basic knowledge of ERP systems.
• Familiarity with Generative AI tools for process automation.
