Accountant (m/f/d) – On-site in Wallonia

About the role

CPRO / CERAL, a premium Belgian pet‑food brand, is seeking a hands‑on Accountant to manage the day‑to‑day bookkeeping for its Wallonia entity. Working closely with the General Manager, the local fiduciaire and APV Group Finance, you will ensure accurate financial records and support statutory reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Take full operational accounting responsibility for the CPRO / CERAL entity, handling all daily bookkeeping tasks.
• Process invoices, manage accounts payable and receivable, reconcile bank accounts daily, and execute payments and dunning procedures.
• Reconcile payment service providers and maintain a clean clearing of related accounts.
• Maintain the fixed‑asset register in accordance with Belgian GAAP.
• Prepare the monthly closing file and act as the internal point of contact for the Belgian fiduciaire.
• Coordinate VAT, Intrastat and other recurring statutory filings with the fiduciaire.
• Serve as a key contact for auditors, tax inspectors and social‑security inspections, gathering documentation and responding to requests.
• Support monthly group reporting to APV Group Finance.
• Handle ad‑hoc accounting tasks that arise in a small, dynamic finance function.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of operational accounting experience in an SME or small‑business environment.
• Working knowledge of Belgian accounting practice, VAT and standard statutory reporting.
• Experience collaborating with an external fiduciaire.
• Commercial or accounting qualification (or finance accountant qualification).
• Fluent French (native or bilingual) and business‑fluent English; Dutch is a strong plus.
• Independent, structured, results‑oriented with high attention to detail.
• Reliable, discreet with sensitive financial data and a team‑player.

Required skills

• Strong Excel proficiency.
• Comfortable learning and using Odoo ERP.
