Guest Service Officer

About the role

The Guest Service Officer provides friendly, passionate, and committed service to guests aboard a cruise ship. This role focuses on actively listening to guests, addressing their concerns, and ensuring a high level of satisfaction throughout their stay.

Key responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and respond to inquiries with a positive attitude.
• Assist guests in resolving issues, complaints, or special requests promptly.
• Handle cash transactions accurately, including understanding US currency and exchange rates.
• Operate basic office equipment such as telephones, computers, and copy machines.
• Collaborate with department heads and shipboard staff to negotiate resolutions.
• Maintain organized records and documentation of guest interactions.

Required profile

• Minimum one year of experience in a customer‑contact role within hospitality or a related field.
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, people‑oriented demeanor.
• Ability to work onboard for a 5‑6 month period.
• Clear and distinct spoken English; ability to read and write English.
• Willingness to engage with guests in a considerate and professional manner.
