Senior Accountant – Finance Department

About the role

Alstom is looking for a Senior Accountant to join its Belgian Finance Department in Charleroi. You will support the two main Belgian sites, coordinate with shared service centers in India, and ensure high‑quality accounting operations across general accounting, treasury, and tax compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in month‑end closing, focusing on provisions.
• Review and resolve issues in documents from shared service centers, including disputed invoices and supplier‑database anomalies.
• Support balance‑sheet reconciliation campaigns according to Group schedules.
• Prepare and analyse payroll‑related accounting entries for Belgian employees.
• Supervise hedge‑accounting entries processed by the Indian shared service center.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and drive continuous improvement.
• Prepare tax returns, consolidate data, and analyse non‑deductible expenses.
• Collaborate with HR, Treasury, and act as the auditor liaison for your area.

Required profile

• Graduate in Finance with a specialization in Accounting or Management Control.
• Approximately 10 years of experience in a similar senior accounting role, preferably within a matrix organization.
• Proactive, dynamic, and able to work with diverse stakeholders.
• Capable of implementing new processes and managing change.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SAP.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with electronic invoicing systems.
