VAT Consultant

About the role

PwC is looking for a senior VAT Consultant to join its International Tax team in Brussels. You will be the primary point of contact for clients, helping them navigate Belgian and cross‑border VAT regulations while delivering high‑quality compliance services.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on VAT compliance strategies, processes and policies to meet Belgian and international requirements.
• Lead VAT projects from planning to delivery, ensuring structured, critical and creative problem‑solving.
• Continuously expand and share knowledge of Belgian and international VAT regulations within the team.
• Collaborate with tax colleagues to provide comprehensive, integrated solutions.
• Maintain and grow client relationships, identifying new business opportunities.
• Coach and develop the VAT compliance team, contributing to the practice’s growth.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in VAT compliance, gained in‑house, at a Big‑4, law firm or tax authority.
• Master’s degree in Tax Law, Business Engineering, Finance, Economics or a related quantitative discipline; postgraduate tax qualification is a plus.
• Strong analytical abilities and interest in business and corporate strategy.
• Fluent English; Dutch or French language skills are an advantage.
• Ability to explain complex concepts clearly in written form and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of Belgian VAT legislation and international VAT frameworks.
