Tool Designer & Technical Support Engineer (Belgium)

About the role

We are looking for a Tool Designer & Technical Support Engineer to join a growing, human‑scale team in Belgium. The role combines full‑cycle 3D tooling design with hands‑on technical support for commercial teams and clients, focusing on precision tools for industrial extrusion processes.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end 3D tooling design (CAD) from specifications to first workshop trials.
• Participate actively in sampling and pre‑series phases within the production workshop.
• Control and validate finished tools using high‑precision measuring instruments.
• Design optimized geometric solutions that balance performance and process feasibility.
• Conduct thermal and mechanical simulations to validate design choices.
• Provide structured technical support to commercial teams, analysing client projects and guiding decisions.
• Interact directly with clients on product‑related technical aspects via phone, Teams, and occasional on‑site visits.

Required profile

• Master's degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, materials science or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in CAD/DAO, preferably in tooling, extrusion, moulding or precision mechanics.
• Proficiency in a 3D modelling software such as SolidWorks, CATIA or Inventor.
• Familiarity with thermal or mechanical simulation tools (e.g., Ansys, Comsol) is a plus.
• Strong metrological rigour and comfort with tolerance requirements.
• Excellent communication skills and fluency in Dutch, English and French.
• Hands‑on, autonomous and curious attitude, able to integrate into a close‑knit team.
