Systems Engineer — Server, Client and Network Operations for NATO with security clearance

About the role

We are seeking a Systems Engineer to manage servers, client devices and network services for a multinational defence organisation supporting NATO operations. The role involves day‑to‑day configuration, support, security patching and documentation of a secure IT estate.

Key responsibilities

• Configure and manage systems, network and end‑user devices on a daily basis.
• Provide technical support to users of those systems.
• Deploy and monitor operating system and application security fixes across the estate.
• Write and maintain technical documentation and standard operating procedures.
• Run the central antivirus solution and ensure device compliance.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure problems and perform regular maintenance.

Required profile

• At least two years implementing and maintaining end systems inside a large organisation.
• Extensive hands‑on configuration of both hardware and software.
• Virtualisation in production – VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper‑V.
• Windows environments at scale: servers and clients across distributed sites.
• Network infrastructure management and enterprise services such as directory and name resolution.
• Experience with collaboration platforms like Exchange and enterprise messaging.
• Scripting in PowerShell or Python to automate deployment and routine administration.
• Enough database and metadata understanding to configure interoperable systems.
• Independence to solve problems rather than escalating them.
