System Designer

About the role

Alstom is looking for a full‑time System Designer to join its Charleroi team. You will be responsible for turning project inputs into well‑structured system specifications that support high‑quality rail and mobility solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse and clarify input requirements from project and program teams.
• Perform conceptual design, create system models and conduct real‑time analyses.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional groups (project engineering, V&V, safety, software, product) to develop design concepts.
• Participate in technical reviews with end‑users and experts.
• Formalise and maintain system specifications, ensuring traceability and compliance.
• Contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives and workload estimations.

Required profile

• Engineering degree (Master’s a plus).
• Understanding of system‑engineering principles.
• Ability to work transversally with diverse engineering teams.
• Strong English communication skills.
