Swedish Literature Tutor

About the role

The International School of Brussels is seeking a Swedish Literature Tutor to deliver an advanced literature course to high‑school students beginning September 2026. The role involves two 85‑minute classes per week, taught entirely in Swedish, and aligns with the International Baccalaureate (IB) framework.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate course objectives, assessment criteria, and timelines to students and parents.
• Design and select course materials in accordance with IB guidelines.
• Deliver engaging, challenging literature lessons to small groups with varied aptitude.
• Leverage local community resources to enrich the learning experience.
• Assess coursework, provide regular feedback, and predict IB grades.
• Report progress verbally and in writing following school procedures.
• Supervise IB internal assessments, oral presentations, and commentary exams.

Required profile

• Formal teaching qualification in literature or language education.
• Commitment to the school’s values of inclusion, challenge and success for all.
• Willingness to continue personal learning and stay updated on language‑teaching developments.
• Experience with the International Baccalaureate programme is an asset.

Required skills

• Knowledge of diverse assessment strategies for IB literature courses.
