Structural Tower Designer (LA&S)

About the role

Join Elia Belgium, a key player in the European electricity transmission system, as a Structural Tower Designer (LA&S). You will contribute to the design and verification of high‑voltage towers and pylons, supporting projects that ensure a reliable and sustainable energy grid.

Key responsibilities

• Draw up detailed plans for new or existing structural steel towers and pylons.
• Assemble production files and perform quality checks to guarantee project execution.
• Collaborate with external engineering firms, monitor their deliverables, and ensure compliance with standards.
• Validate external study plans, communicate comments, and achieve final approved versions.
• Maintain consistency of solutions across disciplines and report progress to the team supervisor.
• Support project teams by working closely with design engineers and fellow designers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or secondary school diploma, preferably in structural steel engineering.
• Strong ability to create implementation plans and interpret existing structures.
• Good knowledge of Dutch and/or French; basic English is a plus.
• Team‑player with strong communication and customer‑orientation skills.
• Understanding of 3D modelling concepts.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD software (Tekla, Revit, AutoCAD).
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Experience using planning tools such as Microsoft Project.
