Software Engineer - AI/ML

About the role

KLA, which makes inspection tools, metrology systems and process solutions for electronics, is looking for a highly skilled Software Engineer with expertise in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. The role sits within KLA's IT group, which connects people, process and technology worldwide, and focuses on building scalable AI solutions that support business priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy machine learning models and AI algorithms, covering data preprocessing, training, validation and deployment.
• Architect scalable systems that handle large volumes of data and complex AI/ML workloads.
• Build production-ready, secure and compliant solutions, and monitor model performance after deployment.
• Research new methods and stay up to date with AI, ML and data science developments.
• Collaborate with data engineers, product managers, software developers and business partners.
• Solve complex problems involving data analysis, model architecture, system integration and business strategy.
• Document processes and share knowledge internally.

Required profile

• Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, AI or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in AI/ML, with a proven track record of deploying solutions in production.
• Ability to lead technical projects in matrix environments and explain technical concepts to non-technical colleagues.
• Preferred: experience in AI domains or industry-specific applications, open-source contributions or research publications, and knowledge of AI ethics.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python, R or similar, with libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch and Scikit-learn.
• Strong background in statistics, machine learning, deep learning, neural networks and system architecture.
• Cloud platforms, DevOps practices and data processing technologies.
• Version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, agile methodologies and software engineering best practices.
