Senior VAT Consultant

About the role

Do you know the VAT rules by heart? Do compliance files hold no secrets for you? As a Senior VAT Consultant at Grant Thornton you will support both local SMEs and internationally active organisations, acting as a trusted advisor on VAT matters.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for national and international clients, providing high‑quality technical VAT advice.
• Lead VAT projects covering implementation, optimisation, regularisation and screening.
• Assist clients during VAT inspections and guide them through regularisations.
• Manage and control compliance files for Belgian and international requirements.
• Work autonomously on assignments while collaborating with colleagues across service lines.
• Contribute to the development of the VAT practice in the Brussels or Antwerp office.

Required profile

• Diploma in an economic or legal field (preferred).
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in accounting or financial services.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Enthusiastic, flexible team player with a hands‑on, result‑oriented mindset.
• Fluent in Dutch and English; French is a plus.
