Senior Risk Officer

About the role

JERA Nex bp, a 50:50 joint venture between JERA and bp focused on offshore wind, is strengthening its Risk & Internal Audit team and is looking for a Senior Risk Officer. The role plays a key part in implementing the global risk management framework, embedding risk practices and raising risk awareness across the organisation. It is listed as hybrid.

Key responsibilities

• Support the design, implementation and continuous improvement of the corporate risk management framework (policies, procedures, methodologies).
• Facilitate risk identification, assessment, treatment, monitoring and reporting across finance, legal, IT, HR, sustainability, investments, projects and operations, acting as a trusted advisor.
• Oversee corporate risk registers and ensure risks are owned and addressed.
• Prepare consolidated risk reports and dashboards for senior management and Board Committees, giving independent assurance on risk management within the defined risk appetite, including timely escalation of risks exceeding risk tolerance.
• Lead topical or cross-functional risk initiatives and assessments, monitor industry trends, lessons learned and emerging threats, and promote a proactive risk culture.
• Assess the potential implementation of digital risk management tools.

Required profile

• A master's degree in a relevant field.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience in risk management.
• Analytical, curious and proactive, with strong communication skills and stakeholder engagement at all levels.
• Experience in programme management and with global teams is a plus.
• Fluent English; knowledge of Dutch, German or Japanese is a plus.
• Genuine interest in renewable energy and willingness to travel as needed.
