Senior Project Manager – Physical Security (Freelance)

About the role

We are looking for a senior freelance Project Manager to lead the physical‑security transformation for a large telecom operator in Belgium. You will be responsible for upgrading access‑control management across 700 buildings, coordinating badge, QR‑code and electronic‑key solutions for roughly 30 000 users.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the badge‑delivery strategy aligned with building migration plans.
• Identify and standardise the most suitable access‑control solution (badge, electronic key, QR‑code) for each use case.
• Design and roll out digitalised processes for badge lifecycle, contractor and visitor management, integrating with SAP‑HR and other IT systems.
• Prioritise, lead and coordinate internal and external stakeholders to deliver the solutions on schedule.
• Deploy automatic access‑rights management tools and maintain a central governance framework.
• Lead change‑management activities and ensure smooth transition from current to future processes.
• Maintain clear communication across all project teams and stakeholders during migration.

Required profile

• Senior‑level project management experience, preferably in physical‑security or telecom environments.
• Proven ability to work with multiple stakeholders and drive large‑scale digital transformations.
• Fluent in English, Dutch and French.
• Strong analytical and organisational skills to manage complex timelines and deliverables.

Required skills

• SAP‑HR integration knowledge.
• Experience with access‑control management systems (badge, electronic key, QR‑code).
• Digital workflow and process‑automation tools.
• Project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, SharePoint).
