Senior Legal Counsel

About the role

Lotus Cars, a leading sports‑car manufacturer, is looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to join its Group Legal Department in Belgium. The role will provide strategic legal support to the global commercial function, with a primary focus on European operations.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a senior member of the Legal & Compliance team, advising on commercial and strategic matters across the business.
• Draft, review, negotiate and manage a wide range of commercial contracts, including distribution, retail, after‑sales, IP‑licensing and procurement agreements.
• Ensure compliance with EU data‑protection requirements and other regulatory obligations.
• Collaborate with Lotus subsidiaries and external counsel in multiple jurisdictions on product‑compliance initiatives and corporate‑governance matters.
• Provide company secretarial support for European legal entities.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer in Belgium or France with 5‑7 years post‑qualification experience.
• Fluent in English; French language skills required.
• Demonstrated experience in drafting and negotiating distribution and procurement agreements.
• Strong communication, relationship‑building and influencing abilities at all organisational levels.
• Highly organised, autonomous and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
