Senior Legal Counsel – International Commercial & IP Contracts

About the role

As a Senior Legal Counsel at Melexis, you will act as a true business partner within a global, technology‑driven organization, providing legal support for a wide range of commercial and IP‑related agreements.

Key responsibilities

• Negotiate, draft and review international commercial agreements, including contracts with universities, customers, suppliers, IP, service, procurement, collaboration and development agreements.
• Advise business stakeholders such as sales, procurement, R&D and innovation teams on legal risks and translate complex legal matters into clear, pragmatic guidance.
• Balance legal risk with commercial objectives to enable confident business decisions.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external counsel, ensuring efficient and solution‑oriented legal support.
• Contribute to building and strengthening the legal function as a business partner in an evolving international context.
• Engage directly with senior stakeholders, including executive leadership, within a flat organisational structure.

Required profile

• European Master’s degree in Law.
• At least 8 years of experience in commercial law, preferably as an in‑house counsel in an international environment.
• Strong expertise in international commercial contracts and IP‑related aspects.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
• Strong interest in innovation, technology and the automotive or robotics sector.
• Team player with a focus on transparency and knowledge sharing.
• Analytical, solution‑driven and pragmatic approach.
• Ability to build strong relationships and act as a trusted advisor.
• Hands‑on attitude, balancing legal theory with business reality.
