Senior Kubernetes Engineer

About the role

Axians is seeking a Senior Kubernetes Engineer to join its European Institutions team in Brussels. You will work in a multicultural environment on high‑impact projects that support European initiatives, helping clients modernise their container platforms and infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy, manage, upgrade and optimise enterprise container platforms such as Rancher, VMware Tanzu and OpenShift in on‑premise environments.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, cluster operations and application deployments using Ansible and Helm.
• Design, implement and maintain monitoring, logging and alerting solutions with Prometheus and Grafana.
• Enforce security best practices through RBAC, Network Policies, secrets management and Pod Security Standards.
• Diagnose and resolve platform and cluster incidents, minimising service disruptions.
• Collaborate with DevOps, development and infrastructure teams to integrate CI/CD pipelines and improve platform performance.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience with Kubernetes architecture and operations.
• Strong background in managing on‑premise container platforms (Rancher, VMware Tanzu, OpenShift).
• Hands‑on expertise with Infrastructure as Code tools, especially Ansible and Helm.
• Experience designing observability solutions using Prometheus and Grafana.
• Deep understanding of Kubernetes security mechanisms (RBAC, Network Policies, secrets, Pod Security Standards).
• Excellent troubleshooting skills for complex, multi‑layer incidents.
