Senior Designer

About the role

Atlas Copco Group’s Portable Air Division is looking for a Senior Designer to join the engineering team that develops mobile compressors. You will work in an innovative environment focused on sustainable solutions for construction, offshore, drilling and other demanding applications.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and create full (pre) feasibility studies.
• Develop design planning together with the project engineer and meet agreed deadlines.
• Design new products in line with master specifications, ensuring functionality, quality, cost‑effectiveness and reliability.
• Consult suppliers, production, SQA, purchasing and service teams to improve designs.
• Plan and coordinate design work when multiple designers are involved.
• Collaborate with Gecia to set targets, monitor progress and follow up.
• Prepare and release bills of materials and drawings.
• Support prototype build‑up, process feedback and refine designs.
• Check 3D and 2D designs, collaborate with senior designers across teams, and contribute to the knowledge database.
• Train and advise new designers.

Required profile

• Extensive experience with 3D design and 2D annotations of industrial products using CAD systems.
• Proficiency in English and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Hands‑on knowledge of Creo and/or Inventor.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in (electro)mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
• Analytical skills to develop and evaluate alternative solutions.
• Project‑management experience is a plus.
