Senior Construction Manager (Freelance)

About the role

The Senior Construction Manager will lead the overall renovation and fit‑out project for temporary Proximus offices in Brussels. This freelance role covers the full project lifecycle, from site preparation through to handover, ensuring quality, safety, schedule, and budget are met.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse plans, specifications and contracts to develop execution strategies and site plans.
• Prepare detailed planning, supervise contractors, subcontractors and suppliers, and lead site meetings.
• Coordinate move‑in activities, create a move playbook and manage the day‑of move logistics.
• Control budgets, validate invoices, manage variations and report financial deviations.
• Supervise quality controls, inspections and punch‑list management.
• Monitor progress against schedule, resolve delays and report status to stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and regulatory requirements.
• Act as the primary on‑site contact for Proximus, contractors and local authorities.
• Oversee provisional and final handover, review as‑built documentation and manage warranty follow‑up.

Required profile

• Proven experience in senior construction management, preferably in renovation or fit‑out projects.
• Strong organisational, coordination and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
• Ability to work on‑site full‑time (40 hrs/week) for a 12‑month period.
