Senior API & Integration Developer (Hybrid, Brugge)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior API & Integration Developer to join our in‑house engineering team in Brugge. You will work on a long‑term digital transformation programme, building business‑critical integration solutions using modern Java technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Java‑based APIs and integration solutions.
• Build secure and scalable RESTful services with Spring Boot and Spring Cloud.
• Create event‑driven integrations using messaging technologies such as RabbitMQ.
• Develop integrations between internal and external business applications.
• Collaborate with developers, architects and business stakeholders to deliver high‑quality software.
• Write clean, maintainable and well‑tested code following Agile and TDD practices.
• Contribute to the evolution of integration architecture and development standards.

Required profile

• 5+ years of commercial Java development experience.
• Strong knowledge of Java 11+ and Spring Boot.
• Proven experience building REST APIs and system integrations.
• Familiarity with messaging platforms such as RabbitMQ, Kafka or ActiveMQ.
• Experience with Hibernate/JPA and relational SQL databases.
• Understanding of OAuth and API security concepts.
• Proficiency with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent communication skills for working with technical and business teams.
