Senior Actuary - Health Insurance

About the role

Alan is building a prevention insurance company that combines insurance, prevention and care, and is hiring an Insurance Expert (Actuary) in Belgium. The role sits at the heart of the insurance team, which designs and prices offers, monitors the business and its risks, and manages capital and reinsurance strategy. The position is open to candidates at C1-E level.

Key responsibilities

• Design and price insurance offers
• Monitor the business and the risks
• Help the wider team understand the subtleties of healthcare and insurance
• Build pricing strategies to open new market segments, including the public sector
• Support the signing of large customers in Belgium
• Strengthen relationships with regulatory bodies and improve compliance
• Work with engineers to build tools that create tailored offers at scale

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in the insurance sector, with exposure to health insurance products such as hospitalisation, group insurance, disability or dental
• Fluent English and Dutch; French is a plus
• A scientific background (actuarial sciences, statistics, mathematics or data science) combined with practical insurance experience (product, pricing, regulatory or analytics)
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking, able to turn complex data, business and legal questions into actionable outputs
• A builder mindset and willingness to challenge the status quo
• Clear, structured communication in writing and speech
