Senior Accountant

About the role

Apleona Belgium is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its finance team. The role combines day‑to‑day operational accounting with analytical support for both local operations and group‑level finance. You will work in a multi‑site environment, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger under Belgian GAAP and IFRS.
• Execute monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes.
• Prepare VAT, Intrastat and other statutory filings.
• Allocate costs per site, contract and cost centre.
• Manage fixed assets, accruals, provisions and reconciliations.
• Provide financial analysis and business support to operations and management.
• Coordinate year‑end audit activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics.
• 5–7 years of experience in a senior accounting position.
• Strong knowledge of Belgian accounting and tax legislation.
• Experience in services, facility management or construction is a plus.
• Fluent in French or Dutch with good English proficiency.
• Hands‑on, structured, autonomous and business‑oriented.
