Sea Freight Export Coordinator

About the role

As a member of the Freight Forwarding team at Kuehne+Nagel, you will own the full operational export process for sea shipments, ensuring reliable and compliant transport solutions for a diverse range of customers.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate export shipments end‑to‑end, from booking to invoicing.
• Confirm and manage bookings with carriers and partners, acting as the central operational point.
• Enter and maintain accurate shipment data in the system.
• Prepare, review and manage shipping documents such as Bills of Lading, packing lists and certificates of origin.
• Ensure compliance with international, local and port‑specific regulations in close collaboration with Customer Care and Customs teams.
• Optimize operational and administrative processes and drive continuous efficiency improvements.

Required profile

• Background in freight forwarding obtained through studies, work experience, or a combination of both.
• First experience in sea freight, preferably in export.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage workload and meet tight deadlines.
• Performance‑driven mindset with high attention to detail and a structured, reliable work style.

Required skills

• Fluency in English.
• Knowledge of Dutch (desirable) and French (advantage).
• Understanding of international, local and port regulations related to sea freight.
