Sales Manager Benelux

About the role

Sonoco, a global packaging solutions company founded in 1899, is looking for a Sales Manager based in the Paris area to cover the France Northern Region and the Benelux. The role develops, improves and manages all commercial processes of the organisation in a documented and systematic way, aiming for maximum efficiency, quality, service and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement sales plans for customer accounts to achieve agreed sales targets, and provide sales plans for customer accounts executed as validated.
• Manage negotiations, conclude and sign customer contracts in line with the company's commercial strategy.
• Take part in budgeting and forecasting, prepare and commit to customer sales volume forecasts, and monitor customer pricing, volumes and budgets.
• Identify and manage margin-improvement opportunities, support cost-saving projects and commercial improvements.
• Maintain regular contact with customers, understand their markets, activities and competitors, and identify opportunities to create value.
• Identify customer needs related to supply chain and technical developments and build long-term profitable relationships.
• Handle commercial claims and negotiate mutually beneficial solutions while monitoring commitments made to customers.
• Work closely with Customer Technical Service, Sales & Marketing, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Finance teams to support customers and deliver agreed objectives.

Required profile

• At least 10 years of commercial experience at a senior level, ideally in a manufacturing environment and an international business.
• Graduate from a business school or university.
• Technical understanding that allows support of customers and internal colleagues in CTS or Supply Chain departments.
• Fluency in English is mandatory; fluency in Dutch is a plus.
