RPG Analyst / Developer – AS/400 Applications

About the role

We are seeking an RPG Analyst/Developer to join a leading European insurance provider. You will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving AS/400 (IBM i) applications that support core business processes.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse functional specifications and translate them into technical designs.
• Develop new RPG programs or adapt existing ones following company standards.
• Conduct code reviews, manage releases, and perform unit testing.
• Handle support tickets, correct bugs, and propose root‑cause solutions.
• Maintain technical and user documentation.
• Define availability targets, monitor performance, and report on service levels.
• Collaborate with key users and business stakeholders in an Agile/Scrum environment.

Required profile

• Degree in IT or equivalent experience.
• Junior (≥2 years) or senior (≥5 years) experience with AS/400 development.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Team player who can share knowledge and communicate with business users.
