Retail Team Leader

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Retail Team Leader to oversee the shop floor at SEA LIFE Blankenberge. You will support the Guest Experience Manager in delivering an exceptional retail experience that enhances every visitor’s visit while promoting ocean conservation. The role is hands‑on, involving coaching staff, engaging with guests and ensuring smooth daily operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop a team of Retail Hosts, delivering daily briefings and on‑floor coaching.
• Plan rotas, manage staffing levels and allocate tasks to maintain optimal service.
• Drive commercial performance by meeting sales targets, monitoring KPIs such as conversion rate and average spend, and analysing sales data for improvements.
• Oversee stock management, deliveries, inventory counts and cash handling procedures.
• Maintain a clean, fully stocked and visually appealing shop in line with Merlin Entertainments and SEA LIFE brand standards.
• Provide excellent customer service, product knowledge and upsell opportunities while acting as an ambassador for SEA LIFE’s conservation mission.

Required profile

• Passion for retail and a genuine interest in marine conservation.
• Proven ability to lead and develop a team in a fast‑paced visitor‑attraction environment.
• Strong communication skills and a customer‑focused attitude.
• Organised, proactive and able to work on the shop floor throughout the day.
