Reservation Clerk – Guest Services

About the role

We are looking for a friendly and proactive Reservation Clerk to join the guest services team at our Brussels hotel. The role involves handling guest inquiries, managing reservations and wake‑up calls, and ensuring a smooth communication flow between guests and hotel departments.

Key responsibilities

• Answer and record guest requests via telephone, email, chat and mobile devices.
• Operate the telephone switchboard, process wake‑up calls and direct calls to the appropriate extensions.
• Log all guest requests in the system and coordinate with Bellperson, Housekeeping and other departments to resolve issues.
• Provide information about room features, hotel amenities and local attractions.
• Process room‑service orders, advise on menu selections and record transactions using the point‑of‑sale system.
• Assist guests with internet access and in‑room entertainment equipment.
• Maintain professional appearance, follow company policies and protect confidential information.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent verbal communication in English; additional languages are a plus.
• Ability to work full‑time on site in a fast‑paced hospitality environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow up on guest requests.
• Physical ability to stand, walk and lift objects up to 10 lb throughout the shift.

Required skills

• Proficiency with telephone switchboard operation.
• Experience using a point‑of‑sale (POS) system.
• Basic computer literacy for logging requests and accessing hotel software.
