Reliability Engineer

About the role

Paulig is looking for a Reliability Engineer to join its technical department in Roeselare, Belgium, reporting to the Technical Engineering Manager. The engineer improves the reliability, availability and maintainability of equipment and systems through engineering expertise, data analysis and proactive maintenance, helping plant assets run safely and efficiently while minimizing downtime and maintenance costs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement reliability strategies to improve equipment uptime and reduce maintenance costs.
• Carry out root cause analysis on equipment failures and put corrective actions in place.
• Monitor asset health using vibration analysis, oil analysis and thermography.
• Work with maintenance and operations teams on preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Create and maintain reliability models such as FMEAs and RCM.
• Analyze performance data to find trends, failure patterns and improvement areas.
• Support capital projects with reliability input on design, commissioning and startup.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with safety, environmental and audit requirements (FSSC, ISO14001, BRC).
• Train maintenance and operations staff on reliability best practices and contribute to audits.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in electromechanics with extensive theoretical and practical knowledge.
• Preferably 5 years of experience in manufacturing processes; familiarity with the food industry is considered beneficial.
• Fluent Dutch and English.
• Willing to work mainly during the day and to cover the Technical Engineering Manager for shorter periods.
