R&D Team Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced R&D Team Manager to lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for the development of an advanced Imaging System used in proton therapy. The role is part of an Agile transformation within the client’s R&D department and focuses on people leadership, team performance, and delivery excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop team members, fostering a culture of ownership and accountability.
• Build a sustainable team through recruitment, onboarding, staffing and retention initiatives.
• Ensure reliable delivery by managing capacity, workload and planning.
• Support the adoption and maturity of Agile practices alongside the Scrum Master.
• Promote strong engineering and quality standards.
• Facilitate collaboration with the Product Owner, technical stakeholders and other Talent Managers.
• Contribute to cross‑team initiatives and communities of practice.
• Drive continuous improvements in team performance, collaboration and delivery efficiency.

Required profile

• Proven leader with a passion for people development.
• Several years of experience in software development, business analysis or solution architecture, preferably in a regulated environment.
• Excellent active listening and communication skills.
• High flexibility and adaptability in dynamic settings.
• Ability to work with a clear vision while embracing iterative, test‑and‑learn approaches.
• Assertive decision‑making and conflict‑resolution capabilities.
