Quality Specialist – Launch Team

About the role

Join Ball’s Launch Team as a Quality Specialist, supporting new builds, new lines and line conversions. You will ensure that start‑up operations meet efficiency, spoilage and quality targets while complying with environmental and food‑safety regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve efficiency and spoilage targets for all new builds, new lines and line conversions according to approved start‑up curves.
• Lead quality performance during start‑up, delivering compliant and specification‑conforming product from first production through handover.
• Monitor product quality and food‑safety compliance, taking immediate corrective action on any deviations.
• Oversee inspections and audits, ensuring local quality teams execute process checks, material inspections and finished‑product audits.
• Maintain, calibrate and validate gauges, inspection devices and measurement equipment, becoming the go‑to support for operational issues across Ball EMEA.
• Track quality trends, identify early variation signals and initiate corrective or preventive actions.
• Support the Plant Quality Manager with ISO, HACCP and other regulatory or customer‑driven food‑safety systems.
• Execute SOPs, SPC and other quality‑management tools to ensure process consistency during ramp‑up.
• Train production and quality staff on process understanding, defect prevention, inspection standards and food‑safety practices.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a quality role within manufacturing or process‑focused environments.
• Demonstrated ability to achieve efficiency, spoilage and quality targets during start‑up phases.
• Strong understanding of environmental and food‑safety regulations.
• Excellent analytical skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
