Quality Engineer I

About the role

Join Sabca’s Brussels engineering hub as a Quality Engineer I, supporting aerospace and space launch programs. You will act as the internal focal point for all quality matters, collaborating closely with program teams, suppliers, and the system quality department.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and report quality performance of assigned programs.
• Manage customer interfaces for quality topics, including progress updates, inquiries, and complaints.
• Handle internal, external, and supplier non‑conformities: root‑cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions.
• Conduct risk analyses on products and manufacturing processes.
• Organise and support customer and product audits.
• Develop and maintain program‑specific quality documentation.
• Participate in continuous‑improvement projects.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in industrial engineering, mechanics, materials science, chemistry or equivalent.
• 5–10 years of experience in a related industry, preferably with quality responsibilities.
• Strong analytical and communication skills in English and French or Dutch.
• Team‑player attitude, solution‑oriented mindset and ability to work under pressure.

Required skills

• Problem‑solving methodologies such as 8D and 5 Whys.
• Knowledge of aerospace quality standards (AS/EN9100, ISO 9001, IATF 16949).
• Familiarity with aerospace materials, components and structural assembly (a plus).
• Proficiency with MS Office and ERP systems (SAP, S4HANA).
