Public Affairs Manager

About the role

The Public Affairs Manager will support EIT Food’s EU‑level public affairs and policy activities, enhancing visibility, stakeholder engagement and strategic positioning across the European policy landscape. Working within the Communication Unit, you will translate policy developments into actionable briefings and help steer advocacy efforts.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor EU policy and legislative developments relevant to EIT Food, including innovation, competitiveness, healthy ageing, biotechnology, sustainable food systems and funding programmes.
• Produce policy briefings, stakeholder notes, alerts and actionable insights for internal teams and leadership.
• Maintain stakeholder mappings and support relationship management with EU institutions, MEPs, national contact points and external networks.
• Organise and support meetings with policymakers and stakeholders, preparing briefing notes and follow‑up materials.
• Represent EIT Food at selected EU policy events, stakeholder discussions and working‑level forums.
• Support the development and execution of EIT Food’s public affairs strategy, including planning, coordination and reporting.
• Identify political risks, funding opportunities and outreach moments aligned with EIT Food’s priorities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in EU public affairs, policy monitoring or advocacy, preferably within the food, agriculture or biotechnology sectors.
• Strong understanding of EU funding programmes, innovation policy and regulatory trends affecting food systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise briefings for senior audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with EU institutions, MEPs and other key stakeholders.
