Project Manager – Operations, Safety & Environment

About the role

We are looking for a Project Manager to lead the planning, execution and delivery of projects within an operating unit, ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental standards. The role combines operational oversight with financial and contractual management to guarantee successful project outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze job risks and ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental legislation, regulations and internal procedures.
• Organise and allocate human and hardware resources, transmitting necessary information and documents to site foremen.
• Oversee the full project lifecycle including planning, scope definition, design, execution and delivery.
• Manage financial and contractual aspects: establish and monitor budgets, maintain customer relationships, handle subcontractors and suppliers, oversee invoicing and monitor customer overdraft.
• Identify and manage risks and opportunities throughout the project.
• Monitor project performance, set performance objectives for site foremen, track indicators and report to line management.
• Drive operational optimisation by proposing innovative solutions, variants and schedule reductions.
• Lead and develop project teams: organise work, manage training, participate in recruitment and assess performance.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing projects in an operating unit or similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations and ability to enforce them.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, organise and allocate resources effectively.
• Experience in financial budgeting, contract administration and risk management.
• Leadership skills to guide site foremen and multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to communicate clearly with customers, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
