Project Manager – Fleet Interventions

About the role

The Project Manager – Fleet Interventions leads end‑to‑end execution of vessel intervention projects, covering maintenance, repair, conversion, and equipment installation. The role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards while achieving optimal vessel performance after redelivery.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and monitor the full project scope, conducting daily progress meetings.
• Engage with Technical Works Manager, Technical Supervisors, Procurement and Vessel Manager to align expectations and communicate status.
• Lead and support the project team, providing coaching, feedback and fostering a collaborative environment.
• Oversee financial performance, manage budget change requests, conduct cost analysis and take responsibility for the final invoice.
• Manage yard and subcontractor contracts, handle variation orders and drive a contractor‑focused schedule.
• Resolve claims efficiently, keeping the Vessel Manager informed.
• Report weekly progress to the Project Steering Committee and monitor the Inspection & Test Plan (ITP).
• Spend 9‑12 months at headquarters for preparation and 2‑3 months on‑site for execution.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or equivalent diploma.
• Basic technical knowledge of ship repair, preferably on dredging or offshore installation vessels.
• Experience with turnaround, repair or conversion projects in on‑shore or offshore sectors (advantageous).
• Strong finance‑control capabilities.
• Proven overall project‑management experience, including scheduling and planning.
• People‑management skills with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
