Project Engineer – Mechanical/Electro‑Mechanical Design

About the role

Leggett & Platt is seeking a Project Engineer to join its Machine Building team supporting the automotive business. You will work on the design, development and commissioning of production equipment that uses electro‑mechanical products and tools.

Key responsibilities

• Design machines, tools and machine elements using 2D/3D CAD.
• Plan project schedules, budgets and monitor progress.
• Develop and release manufacturing documentation for machine and product builds.
• Support the introduction of new manufacturing technologies to improve competitiveness.
• Ensure Engineering Change Requests (ECR) and Manufacturing Change Requests (MCR) are followed and implemented.
• Comply with environmental policies and the environmental management system.

Required profile

• Degree in mechanical, design, manufacturing or electrical engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a design engineering role.
• Strong mathematical background (algebra, trigonometry, analytical geometry).
• Ability to manage multiple projects, schedules and budgets.
• Professional written and oral communication skills in English; Dutch or French is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor.
• Experience using 2D and 3D CAD modelling and drafting software.
• Ability to read, understand and create engineering drawings and Bills of Materials.
