Project Engineer - Customer Installations

About the role

Air Liquide's CI&S Project Leader in Wallonia is responsible for supporting operations for the entire lifetime of a customer installation, from offer to dismantling. The role supports the commercial teams during business development and covers project preparation, execution, handover, cost, lead time and budget management, while ensuring legal and IMS compliance. It works closely with Project Managers EIM Engineering on complex and non-standard projects.

Key responsibilities

• Support the sales representative in defining a clear scope during business development
• Define services and equipment with the Assets team, prepare specifications, run RFQs with Procurement and develop technical proposals with budget and schedule
• Take the initiative to start the PRA where applicable and support the SHE department on other risk assessments
• Obtain validation from the Design Authority or use validated standard designs, and take part in offer, contract and design basis reviews
• Lead project execution after budget approval, obtain legal permits, acquire parts and services and manage change orders
• Supervise start-up and commissioning, ensure adherence to PSSR and RTOR protocols, and complete technical files for handover to operations
• Close out the project, share lessons learned and give maintenance teams the information needed for maintenance plans
• Support the installation throughout its lifetime (ARA, LOPA, HAZOP, MOC, compliance assessments, audits), manage tank dance projects, modifications and dismantlings, and report anomalies

Required profile

• Master's or bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, electromechanical, chemical or equivalent)
• Solid field experience in mechanical or electromechanical work
• Fluent French and English
• Willingness to travel
• Positive attitude towards safety, health and environmental protection, and willingness to question established practices

Required skills

• Knowledge of Google tools, telemetry applications and SAPO
• Understanding of procedures and regulations for new and existing industrial installations
• Engineering and project methodology knowledge, and strong understanding of safety procedures
• Technical understanding of gas physical and production processes
