Project Director

About the role

Smappee is seeking a results‑driven Project Director to lead its Project Management Office and oversee the enterprise project portfolio. In this senior role you will combine strategic oversight with hands‑on leadership to ensure that high‑impact initiatives are delivered on time, within scope and budget while continuously improving governance and organisational effectiveness.

Key responsibilities

• Own and continuously optimise the enterprise project portfolio, aligning initiatives with business priorities, capacity and financial impact.
• Partner with senior leadership to evaluate, prioritise, sequence and challenge new projects based on value, dependencies, risks and resources.
• Personally lead the most critical cross‑functional strategic initiatives, coordinating R&D, Product Management, Operations, Sales, Marketing and other functions.
• Build and enhance project‑management methodologies, governance frameworks, tools and reporting standards, driving continuous improvement.
• Define and monitor portfolio KPIs to support data‑driven decision‑making.
• Lead, coach and develop a small Project Management team, fostering ownership, accountability and stakeholder engagement.

Required profile

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Computer Science or a related field.
• Extensive experience leading complex, cross‑functional programs and project portfolios in a technology, hardware or software environment.
• Proven success establishing or leading a PMO or portfolio‑management function.
• Strong strategic mindset with the ability to balance quality, customer impact and organisational priorities.
