About the role

H&O Equipments is seeking a Product Engineer with a strong mechanical engineering background to develop next‑generation cryosurgical medical devices. This hands‑on position spans the full product lifecycle, from concept through prototyping, testing, and manufacturing hand‑off.

Key responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimise mechanical components and assemblies for cryosurgical instruments.
  • Create and manage detailed 2D and 3D engineering drawings in line with industry and regulatory standards.
  • Support the entire product development cycle, including concept design, prototyping, validation, and transfer to manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Regulatory, and Manufacturing teams to ensure functional, safety, and compliance requirements are met.
  • Perform design analysis, tolerance studies, and select materials suitable for cryogenic and medical‑grade applications.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation such as BOMs, drawing packages, and design history files.
  • Assist in root‑cause analysis and implement design improvements based on testing feedback or field data.
  • Contribute to design control processes aligned with ISO 13485, FDA QSR, or equivalent regulations.

Required profile

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design Engineering, or a related field.
  • Solid knowledge of mechanical part design and GD&T.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for 3D modelling and 2D drawings.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and DFM/DFA principles.
  • Prior experience in medical device development, especially cryosurgery or precision surgical instruments, is a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with medical device regulatory frameworks (ISO 13485, ISO 14971, FDA 21 CFR Part 820, MDR) is advantageous.
