Process & Method Engineer (VIE)

About the role

Join Alstom as a VIE Process & Method Engineer and apply your engineering and process‑optimization expertise to improve production flows in a cutting‑edge rail environment. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to structure bills of material, define make‑or‑buy decisions, and create detailed work instructions.

Key responsibilities

• Optimize the Manufacturing Bill of Material (MBOM) to enhance workshop production flows.
• Structure and maintain the Engineering Bill of Material (EBOM) and define Make or Buy status.
• Develop assembly sequences, production durations and detailed routing work instructions.
• Ensure compliance with customer acceptance criteria and project quality, cost, delivery (QCD) commitments.
• Supervise global customer acceptance performance for the assigned scope.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing and quality teams to guarantee efficient project execution.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• First experience in a process‑oriented industry such as rail, factory automation or related fields.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• Strong leadership mindset with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders.
• Result‑driven attitude and problem‑solving capabilities in complex environments.

Required skills

• Understanding of electrical processes (earthing & bonding, cabling, protection, instrumentation).
• Knowledge of mechanical processes relevant to rail manufacturing.
• Process optimisation techniques.
• Structuring of Manufacturing Bill of Material (MBOM).
• Structuring of Engineering Bill of Material (EBOM) and make‑or‑buy analysis.
