Process Engineer - Equipment CAPEX Projects

About the role

Novartis is looking for a Process Engineer focused on equipment to manage and execute CAPEX projects in the production equipment area. The position is based in Puurs, Belgium, and is offered in a hybrid format.

Key responsibilities

• Execute CAPEX projects covering preprocessing, compounding and filling of aseptic products in Puurs.
• Initiate each project and develop the business case together with the stakeholders.
• Contact suppliers, order equipment, run design reviews and carry out FAT/SAT and commissioning tests so the new equipment starts running on time.
• Manage the project budget and schedule across departments.
• Become the subject matter expert for the preprocessing, compounding and filling processes at the site.
• Challenge the status quo, evaluate alternatives and new technologies, and develop an execution strategy aligned with customer needs (cost, schedule, functionality, quality).

Required profile

• Degree in Industrial Engineering (Dipl. Ing. / M.Sc.) or equivalent.
• 3 years of engineering experience, of which 2 in investment projects, ideally in the pharmaceutical industry and aseptic production.
• Proven project management skills, including contract management and project controlling.
• Fluent in English and Dutch.
• Desirable: leadership experience managing external resources, understanding of qualification activities in pharma, and commitment to diversity and inclusion.
