Post‑doctoral researcher in computational membrane protein studies

About the role

The Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at Ghent University seeks a post‑doctoral researcher to conduct computational structural studies of membrane proteins. The role involves both research and teaching activities within an interdisciplinary project.

Key responsibilities

• Perform computational studies of membrane proteins using molecular modeling, molecular dynamics simulations, and enhanced sampling methods.
• Participate in teaching related courses and supervise students and interns.

Required profile

• PhD in computational chemistry, computational biophysics or a related field.
• Extensive experience with molecular dynamics simulations of membrane proteins.
• Strong knowledge of membrane remodeling and transport mechanisms.
• Excellent written and spoken English and high motivation for interdisciplinary research.

What we offer

• Fixed‑term contract for one year, starting earliest 1 December 2026.
