Policy Analyst

About the role

CSIL is seeking a Policy Analyst to join its Policy Advisory and Evaluation team, focusing on evaluating and impact‑assessing EU legislation in industrial and digital policy, with an emphasis on sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to research outputs, including drafting evaluation reports, impact assessments, policy briefs, and tender proposals in English.
• Design and implement methodological approaches for policy evaluation and impact assessment of regulations.
• Conduct documentary and legal reviews to support evaluation of EU legislation.
• Collect, process, and interpret data to underpin evidence‑based analysis.
• Engage with stakeholders through interviews, workshops, and presentations, and liaise with external experts and partners across Europe.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or PhD in Public Policy, Law, Economics, Political Science or related fields with an excellent academic record.
• 4–5 years of experience in public policy evaluation, regulatory impact assessment or related analytical roles.
• Strong knowledge of EU policy‑making processes, Better Regulation Guidelines, impact‑assessment tools, cost‑benefit analysis and ex‑post evaluation methodologies.
• Experience with product legislation and sustainability policies.
• Fluent English (C1/C2) with strong writing and presentation abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
