Platform Engineer (Liège, Belgium)

About the role

We are looking for a Platform Engineer to design, build and operate the internal developer platform that powers software delivery at GAMING1. Based in Liège, Belgium, you will work closely with engineering teams to provide self-service, secure and observable infrastructure that accelerates their development cycles.

Key responsibilities

• Co-design and implement platform capabilities using Infrastructure-as-Code principles.
• Create self-service tools and automation to improve developer productivity.
• Apply and maintain security standards across the platform.
• Monitor performance, capacity and availability from a customer-centric perspective.
• Implement and validate disaster-recovery procedures and test platform resilience.
• Research, experiment with and evaluate new technologies to drive innovation.
• Document platform features and conduct workshops to evangelise capabilities.
• Collect user feedback and continuously improve the platform experience.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps or related fields.
• Strong mindset focused on self-service, automation and developer experience.
• Ability to work both collaboratively and autonomously.
• Excellent communication skills for sharing technical knowledge.

Required skills

• Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
• Container orchestration with Kubernetes, Docker and Helm.
• Automation scripting in Python or .NET.
• Observability tools like DataDog, Prometheus and Grafana.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ or Kafka.
