Plastic Engineer – Injection Mould Design

About the role

Join Toyota Motor Europe’s Production Engineering Division in Brussels and lead the introduction of new plastic components into mass‑production automotive plants across Europe. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of plastic injection mould projects, from design through to series production, supporting the launch of future Toyota models.

Key responsibilities

• Design plastic injection moulds using CATIA and evaluate feasibility through tooling studies.
• Determine injection‑moulding filling concepts with CAE tools such as Moldflow.
• Prepare mould specifications, support toolmaker selection, and approve mould designs.
• Manage part‑quality improvement trials before series production.
• Set up moulds on production machines, adjust parameters, and troubleshoot injection‑moulding issues.
• Define specifications for checking fixtures, part‑transfer equipment, and robot attachments, and support their implementation.
• Benchmark new injection‑moulding technologies and materials, assess benefits, and integrate suitable solutions into production.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of university or engineering school education in Materials Science, Mechanical Design, Plastics/Polymer Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of injection‑moulding processes.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment and collaborate with design and manufacturing teams.
