Pharmacometrics Team Lead – Belgium

About the role

UCB is seeking an innovative Pharmacometrics Team Lead to strengthen its Quantitative Clinical Pharmacology group at the Braine research site. You will guide a team of pharmacometricians, applying state‑of‑the‑art modelling to accelerate drug discovery and development in pediatrics, neurology and immunology.

Key responsibilities

• Coach and mentor junior staff within a matrix organisation.
• Define and deliver Pharmacometrics strategies for asset development, including dose selection, trial design and PIP preparation.
• Perform hands‑on population PK/PD, exposure‑response modelling and clinical trial simulations.
• Produce submission‑ready analysis plans and reports.
• Oversee outsourced pharmacometrics work and drive internal capability building.
• Interact with health authorities on regulatory pathways and collaborative initiatives.
• Promote MID3 concepts internally and externally.

Required profile

• PhD or MD in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Statistics, Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of pharma/biopharma experience in Pharmacometrics, with at least 2 years of line‑management responsibility.
• Hands‑on expertise in population PK/PD, disease progression modelling and clinical trial simulations.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Bayesian methodologies, model‑based meta‑analysis, PBPK, QSP and AI/ML applications in Pharmacometrics.
• Proficiency with R, NONMEM or equivalent pharmacometrics software.
