About the role
Ashurst is seeking a People and Culture Officer to manage HR operations for its Brussels and Luxembourg offices. Reporting to the People and Culture Business Partner, you will be responsible for delivering a seamless employee experience across recruitment, onboarding, development, and compliance.
Key responsibilities
- Manage day‑to‑day HR activities for both offices, including recruitment, onboarding, training and career development.
- Maintain personnel files, employment contracts and legal documentation in line with local employment laws.
- Ensure accurate data entry and reporting in the HR Information System (HRIS) for both locations.
- Support compensation and benefits administration, ensuring compliance with group and local standards.
- Oversee integration and support of trainees and seconded staff.
- Handle HR‑related procurement, invoice processing and payment follow‑up independently.
- Document all HR processes and procedures, ensuring clarity and consistency.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of HR policies and practices.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in Human Resources, Law or a related field.
- 3‑5 years of HR experience, preferably in professional services or a law firm.
- Good knowledge of Belgian employment law; familiarity with Brussels Bar Association rules is a plus.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills in English and French; Dutch is an asset.
- Ability to work autonomously, manage multiple priorities and maintain a high level of discretion.
Required skills
- Proficiency with HRIS platforms.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
