Part‑time Drama Teacher (Primary Years) – Replacement

About the role

We are looking for a qualified part‑time Drama Teacher to join our Primary Years Programme (PYP) on a replacement contract covering parental leave. The role is based at our fully IB‑accredited international school in Brussels and involves teaching theatre to students in Years 5‑8.

Key responsibilities

• Create a happy, caring, learner‑centred environment that supports inquiry‑based and experiential learning.
• Design and deliver high‑quality drama units and lesson plans aligned with IB standards.
• Plan, set up, and coordinate theatre productions with children.
• Organise relevant school trips and extracurricular activities.
• Provide extra support to students and participate in school clubs.
• Collaborate on interdisciplinary projects, including the PYP Exhibition and Playkeeping.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessment data, and student progress.
• Prepare student reports, references, and documentation for IB external assessments.
• Supervise students during break and lunch times and assist with inspection and accreditation preparations.

Required profile

• Creative, flexible, and adaptable to the evolving needs of the school.
• Willing to use new technologies in the classroom.

Required skills

• University degree in education, theatre, or a related field.
• Experience planning and coordinating theatre productions with children.
• Teaching experience, preferably in an international IB setting.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of another language is an advantage.
