NPI Sourcing & Purchasing Projects Lead

About the role

Smappee is looking for a dynamic NPI Sourcing & Purchasing Projects Lead to join its Supply Chain & Operations team. You will be responsible for ensuring timely, cost‑effective procurement of materials and components for new products while collaborating with suppliers, internal teams and logistics.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the prototyping process to guarantee on‑time development and quality assurance.
• Develop and optimise procurement strategies for specific commodities or product categories.
• Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favourable terms and pricing.
• Work with cross‑functional teams to influence design decisions and achieve the best total cost of ownership.
• Monitor supply market trends, assess risks and identify emerging technologies and suppliers.
• Promote early‑stage collaboration with suppliers during product development and project planning.
• Design and implement procurement processes, governance structures and performance metrics.
• Introduce and optimise procurement tools and systems to improve efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of procurement experience, specifically in NPI or project‑lead roles.
• Proven ability to conduct supply market analysis and gather intelligence.
• Experience scouting new technologies and evaluating potential suppliers.
• Strong negotiation, contract management and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Experience in the renewables or electric‑vehicle industry is a plus.
